The Vascular Laboratory at Bedford Memorial Hospital (BMH) has earned re-accreditation from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL), a national peer-based review organization.
During the accreditation process, which occurs every three years, aspects of the laboratory's daily operations and its impact on quality of care provided to patients were assessed and reviewed.
The ICAVL combines the standards and best practices from around the country with survey teams of vascular lab doctors and technologists.
Howard Ainsley, president/CEO, said BMH's re-accreditation shows the commitment the hospital has made toward providing patients the best care possible.
"We are extremely proud of the re-accreditation," Ainsley said. "We are dedicated to the health of the Bedford area, and work hard at maintaining a high level of patient care and testing."
